The studio for painters is located in a barren landscape in the Arravali ranges in Udaipur. The larger idea here was to create a strong contrast with the immediate surrounding using pure geometry to organize all the spaces around a courtyard. Strong colors have been contrasted with natural stone and brick textures as a metaphor to the canvas of painters.

This is another project that I admire. Straight lines meeting with curves have been my favourite. Reminds me of Le Corbusiers work. I have been to Udaipur twice in the past (2011 & 2014) but never seen something like this there. India and its young and upcoming architecs are surely putting India on the world map….Cheers.
